Reasons to Marry a Filipina

What are some good reasons to marry a woman from the Philippines?  I can think of a quite a few:

You are past your 30’s but you want children.  Let’s face it–men don’t really have a biological clock.  If you are 40 or older, marrying someone your own age may mean a childless marriage.    As I’ve mentioned before, Filipinas are open to marrying older men (see also: Does Age Matter to Filipinas).

You want someone with conservative values.   Maybe the women you are meeting remind you of the characters in Sex in the City–not the type you’d want to bring home to mom.  You’ll find more conservative women in the Philippines.

You are religious or a person of faith.  Women from the Philippines tend to be devoted to God.

RECOMMENDED: I recommend Christian Filipina for those who are serious about finding love in the Philippines.

You want an educated woman.  As I’ve mentioned before, there are plenty of educated, professional women who join penpal websites.

You take marriage seriously, and want a woman who will do the same.  Filipinas are very family oriented.

You think brown-skinned petite women are beautiful.  This Philippines has the most beautiful  women in the world.

Finding Your Bride in the Philippines: Be Persistent!

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t find the right woman within the first few weeks.  Remember–you are looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with.  You do not want to rush this process.

This is also why I’ve encouraged you to go ahead an buy a year-long membership. Take your time, correspond with several women, and I’ll be you can find the right one.  Trust me–there are plenty of lovely single women here.

Marrying a Filipina: Money and Sharing

If you are serious about marrying a Filipina, you’ll need to talk to her about money.

Filipino culture is different from Western culture.  Whereas Americans are “rugged individualists,” Filipino families share everything.  They are likely to know how much money each family member makes (possibly including extended family) and they share according to need.

It’s quite common for a young woman to give half of her paycheck (or more) away to care for aged parents, sibling tuition, family medical bills, etc.

RECOMMENDED: I recommend Christian Filipina for those who are serious about finding love in the Philippines.

Refusing to help her family financially is not an option.  On the other hand, her family may overestimate your wealth and think you will pay all of their living expenses once you are part of the family.

This is why communication is so important.  You’ll need to set some basic guidelines as to how much you can give and legitimate needs vs abuse of your generosity.
